Warrumbungles Revisited

I meant to start posting these photographs yesterday but I'm still feeling a little under the weather. I'll post photos from the Warrumbungles today but you'll have to wait until tomorrow for the zoo photos (sorry Cat).

I also arrived home to quite a bit of mail. Along with a lot of Christmas cards, I also finally have some postcards from Postcrossing which deserve their own post(s). Oh and I was the lucky recipient of a giveaway over at Click your Heels and the lovely nude lipgloss was waiting for me in the mail. I'll will respond with my own giveaway in the next few weeks.

Oh and thank you to everyone who left comments while I was away. I have replied to a few but it is a lot harder to keep track of them on my phone, so if I find the energy I will go back over my posts for the last few weeks and catch up on them. I do appreciate them all :-)

And onto my photographs...
Our campsite. It truly was a beautiful area to stay, we also managed to get a spot away from most of the other campers (always love a little privacy...) so our nearest neighbours...
...were kangaroos.
I had hoped to get some star photos while we were in such an ideal location (that is why the observatory is there after all) but the moon was just too bright.
In the morning we woke up to more kangaroos. Literally. They ate near the tent door so noisily they woke me up.
Then they left and a couple of emus came by.
The view from the lookout we stopped at on our way out of the National Park.
Then we had a quick stop in at the observatory, it was interesting but there wasn't really much to do there.
And finally, the World's Largest Virtual Solar System Drive scaled at 38 million times smaller than the real solar system. I also got the numbers wrong in my last post, Pluto is around 200km away from the observatory.  There are actually 5 different routes you can take to experience the drive, which I think is rather cool. Dubbo is the home to one Pluto, and of course the Taronga Western Plains Zoo...stay tuned :-)
