Last week SJ had a Skype interview for a graduate position at a research institue in Sydney. He got a phone call today that he's made it to the final round of the selection process and is being flown to Sydney next Friday for a tour and final interview.
I'm so nervous!
It's good news and would be an incredible job if he got it, position would start in February.
Would make a bit of a mess of things for us though, I've been in my current position a year and would really like to see 2 years. So it could mean a few months living in different states (again!) before I managed to get another job. Ideally, transferring for me, but with a government position it's hard to know what will be available in a year's time.
Still, good news :-) Finally heading in the right direction.
Oh, and my Mum, Dad and MissC are arriving in Melbourne as I type. We are off to the State of Origin tonight (have incredible seats, includes a 3 course meal!). Also have another football game on Friday night (Broncos vs Storm, still NRL) and hoping to take my parents along the Great Ocean Road on Saturday. Might be too busy to blog much, but I just wanted to share SJ's news :-D
yay congrats!!! Good luck for the final interview!! Everything happens for a reason, no matter what happens you guys will work something out!
ReplyDeleteyay! Fingers crossed... you can become a Sydney girl like me :)
ReplyDeleteThat's how we can tell you're not a real Melburnian - you'd be hard pressed to find one of us who would follow the rugby enough to go to the State of Origin! Enjoy - great weather this evening for an outdoor game.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed for SJ! Living in Sydney is great :-)
ReplyDeleteOmg! I hope that everything works out! But nooooo stay in Melbourne.
ReplyDeleteExciting news. Best of luck for the interview although living apart wouldn't be nice if he got it.
ReplyDeleteWhat awesome news, hope you get the outcome that you want!
ReplyDeleteI have been living apart from my boyfriend for 2 years now (different countries, ugh) and it sucks so much sometimes, but it will be worth it for you if your partner gets his dream job and you can find an awesome job too xx
Unknown was me btw not sure why it posted as unknown.
ReplyDeleteOooh that's fantastic news!! Good luck to him :)
ReplyDeleteWow, good luck to SJ! Hope all goes well for him.
ReplyDeleteI second Ling's comment though - stay in Melbourneeee!
Hope you have a fantastic time with the family! :) xx
