Weekend in Adelaide

SJ and I drove to Adelaide for the Australia Day long weekend. Not a lot to report, the weekend was fun and relaxing yet I came back incredibly tired.

The drive was quite nice, good views of the Grampians as we approached Horsham where we camped on Friday night.

Crossing the border was also a small novelty. I have been to Adelaide and areas of South Australia before but this was the first time I've crossed (and straddled) the border.

Since we were there primarily to watch bits of a bike race, here are some photos of it. We caught the second last stage on Wilunga hill (which was quite exciting as an Australian won) and the final stage through the city on Sunday.

I also did a little riding of my own from where we were camping (in West Beach) into the city. Discovered a few interesting sights along the way.

Staying near the beach we also managed a swim (probably my last for the season) and a pathetic sunset over the water. Guess I'll just have to go back!

  3. Oh such lovely weather. I should have been there instead of gloomy sydney during the long weekend.

  5. Why did you come here? I've lived here for all of 33 of my 39 years and I hate it! It's boring, plain, dull and I always find other places so exciting!

  6. My homeland! Glad you enjoyed it. You always seem to go on such great road trips, it makes me want to do it. I've never "crossed" the border either, maybe something to add to my list of things to do this year :)
