French Stripes and Red

Very late, as usual, but this is the outfit I wore on Saturday. Which as you all remember, was Bastille Day.

Once I remembered this, I changed my original outfit plans for Brunch and decided I must wear my black and white stripey shirt with it.

I thought it would look great teamed with a red skirt...only problem was, I didn't own one!

So I ducked into Harbourtown after work on Friday and picked this one up for $14.95 from the discount ValleyGirl. Not bad for a quick, cheap buy...shame I didn't know it was see through! Don't think it's too obvious at least. I didn't try it on instore as I was riding my bike home and dressed accordingly....

You didn't need to guess that I would wear it with my black boots. Love these things.

Despite their height they are surprisingly comfortable. Though I wouldn't want to walk for hours in them!

I wore a bit of red on my lips. Toned down my usual Lady Danger (and used it more as a stain) since I was out during the day and wore my Revlon Lip Butter in Candy Apple over it.

Obviously my nails and bangle co-ordinated. Someone has commented that I always manage to match my colours well? It's easy really, I only wear a few.

This is OPI Big Apple Red. My all time favourite nail polish and colour. If I only buy this shade of red, I will always match. Easy!

I tried out my Poshe top coat on this one and stuffed up the pinky finger a little, there's a bit of shrinkage there!

I wore my outfit to a Voguette meet in the city for brunch, we went to Manchester Press.

They put sad looking creepy men in the soy hot chocolates there.

And heap on the mascarpone cream on their fruit and nut bagels.

So now I'm only 5 days behind with blogging...

  2. I adore your outfit!! I've got those boots, too (I first saw them on your blog, and being quite possibly the best looking boots ever, had to have them) - pounced on them when I saw they were reduced to $60, but turns out I can't wear them for more than literally 10 mins without being in absolute agony - devastated :( Great post!

    1. Oh no! That's such a shame :-( I think because I wear heels all the time the height doesn't bother me. They are a little weirdly shaped with the heel and platform though, it might be that as well.

I hope you manage to wear them on the odd occasion though :-)

  3. Hot outfit! I hate it when skirts are see through. You can get away with it if you are wearing tights though.

  5. I didn't realise that your skirt was see-through, and I was eyeing it off because I loved it, so it can't have been that noticeable.

    1. Thanks Cabaret :-) With tights it should be okay I suppose, not going to stop me wearing it anyway!

  7. I should've sent you the pic of the bunny they made on my coffee to add to your post. It was really nice meeting you that day. You've now inspired me to add a red skirt to my never-ending list of things to buy!

PS: Thanks for following my blog! :) I'm following you too!
