All the good things and sun burn

And I'm back. Not just from Brisbane, from my blogging slump. At least, that's the plan!

Firstly, I apologise for the low quality photos that may follow. My trusty Nokia is currently in the shop waiting to be fixed and my HTC camera sucks in comparison. I also apologise for any double up with instagram, I try to take different photos but I've been lazy.

First up, some pics of my new hair after a visit to Miss Fox last week. I loved the blow wave and how natural the colour looks. Luna put only a small amount of blonde foils through the roots (and didn't actually use foils, all with a brush on selective strands) but it looks so much fresher. Also had a decent amount chopped of the end so that probably helps.

Immediately after taking these photographs I put my hair up, put on a bike helmet and rode home. Such a shame.

My weekend in Brisbane was lovely and warm. I even went for a bike ride down to the beach with my Dad. He's been riding a lot lately and I struggled to keep up!

My sister made me these cute rainbow cupcakes (gluten free to as my baby sister has recently been diagnosed as a coeliac!) and we had a little party with some of my relatives. Was so nice to see everyone and to have nothing I had to do and no where I had to be. Helped that it was a Sunday afternoon and I knew I didn't have to work until Wednesday.

On Monday (my birthday), Mum and I went down the coast for lunch with my sister (who is working on a construction project down there, she's a Civil Engineer too). Then we did a little shopping. Two of my sisters had no idea what to buy me so I was shopping for a present from them...and didn't find anything. For some reason I'm not finding much that appeals to me in the shops lately.

I did get this wallet though, it's officially from my Nanna. It's incredibly soft and quite a simple, thin, plain wallet (exactly what I was hoping to find) taupe/beige leather with contrasting darker brown inside. It's a part of the new pierre cardin range if anyone is interested and after a wallet for under $100, which also included a bunch of gorgeous pastel coloured multi toned wallets, which were very lovely but not my thing. I'm a bit boring like that.

I also got a few dresses for my birthday (work dresses was a request) and wore this one to work last week. Please ignore the creases, and the ugly disabled bathroom at work. When I ride to work and it's yucky outside it's the only chance I have to take outfit photos.

And this one. I think I'm going to refer to this dress as my 'Star Trek' dress. I don't know much about Star Trek but I'm pretty sure that's how they dressed.
This weekend just gone I decided to play my guitar again (I only know a few chords) and my nails were bugging me so I cut them all off. Instant regret! Luckily, I had a packet of 'Press'n'Go' nails I scored in a Priceline gift-with-purchase bag a few months ago. Stuck them all on before heading to a friend's birthday BBQ...pretty happy with them but by the end of the day I was sick of them and ripped them all off. Hope it doesn't take too long for my nails to grow back!
At this BBQ there was not one, but two icecream cakes and a whole bunch of other treats. Glad it was a nice sunny day in the end.
Though my legs aren't quite as glad. I wore this outfit (another birthday present dress) and my legs and feet got a little burnt. My right knee in particular is still stinging.

So that's it from me, I'm going to try and blog a little more frequently than my slack once-a-week posts. And I have more than a few blogs to catch up on too!
